The Bay has closed its doors after 355 years of operation. The Hudson's Bay Company, or "The Bay," has decisively ended its retail operations in Canada. After filing for creditor protection in March 2025, most stores closed by June. The company's trademarks and assets were sold to Canadian Tire, and others acquired some store leases.
