2024 Total Solar Eclipse in Toronto

April 8, 2024 - Total Solar Eclipse darkens skies across North America. Eclipses can be seen throughout parts of Mexico, the United States, and Canada.

The Eclipse viewing in Ontario was hampered by cloud-cover skies across southern Ontario and missed the Totality that will last 4 minutes and 28 seconds.

As the year turns, the Waxing Crescent (7.5% New Moon) sweeps past Venus West one hour after Sunset. Since the Moon is very close to Venus, the Moon blocks the light from Venus, and a lunar occultation event occurs for about one hour and 6 minutes (19:47 to 20:53)
